The Sphere at Expo 2017

The focus of Expo 2017, Nur Alem, the world’s largest spherical construction illustrates the theme of the ex- hibition: Future Energy.

The 100-metre-high sphere has a diameter of 8o m and is clad in individually formed photovoltaic glass panels; two noiseless wind turbines add to the power generation capacity. Housing displays on renewable energy and innovative technologies in the enclosed area of 24,000 sq m and offering a bird’s eye view of Astana from the top, Nur Alem was converted into the Museum of Future Energy after Expo 2017.
