The Rami Barracks

The Rami Barracks Library in Eyüp, istanbul is a historic barracks building which was built in 1757 and was used as military barracks between 1960 and 1980 before being transferred to the lstanbul Metropolitan Municipality to be used as a parking lot, sports field, and food warehouse.

The Rami Library boasts a 250-year history and carries the splendor of its past as a witness to it as well as a source for the future. The library offers a variety of spaces for individual and group reading, as well as activity areas and workshop spaces. Additionally, the library includes a center designed to accommodate people with disabilities. The library’s campus provides plenty of opportunities for conversations, seminars, and exhibitions, making it a versatile space for different uses.
