Ataköy House

Located in Muğla/Akyaka on the southwest coast of Tur- key, the design of Ataköy House prioritized simplicity and harmonious coexistence with nature. The structure was designed using only essential elements and with a strategy that aimed to seamlessly integrate all architectural elements, taking into consideration various factors including earthquake risks.

Despite the challenges, the design succeeded in maximizing natural light while minimizing the building’s impact on the surrounding soil. Notably, the use of concrete as a visible and distinctive material not only achieved the desired forms but also enhanced the overall construction economy. These design features have earned Atakoy House a nomination for the prestigious 2022 Aga Khan Award for Architecture.
