Continuing in 2023, the RIBA + VitrA Talks partnership enters its fifth year with a new series – Forms of Exchange: Exploring the Spaces in Between – promoting groundbreaking international discourse in architecture and the cultural exchange of innovative design and ideas. Forms of Exchange follows on from the Architecture Anew and Well Being: Well Built series, touching on themes of sustainability and wellbeing.
The series spotlights practitioners that are leading the way with new processes, redefining placemaking and the architectural profession. The question at the core of the series “How does architecture manifest itself beyond the structural form?" – will explore how architects are creating spaces that enhance communities and improve urban life. The series will feature speakers such as Sebastien Ricard of WilkinsonEyre, Winy Maas of MVRDV, Asif Khan of Asif Khan Studio and Jayden Ali, founder of JA Architects and co-curator of the 2023 Venice Biennale.
The Forms of Exchange theme was introduced in a panel event - Shaping integrity – new forms of architecture - that saw Flora Samuel, Professor of Architecture at Cambridge University, discussing architecture’s potential to enhance quality of life with Pooja Agrawal, founder of Public Practice, Jas Bhalla of Jas Bhalla Architects and Clementine Blakemore of Clementine Blakemore Architects.
Next up in the series is A New Powerhouse for London – Rebuilding the Brick Cathedral on Thursday 20 April 2023 at 18:30. The event at 66 Portland Place, London W1 will focus on the transformation of London icon Battersea Power Station and its environs with Wilkinson Eyre lead architect Sebastien Ricard, followed by a conversation with writer and journalist, Helen Barrett.

The talks span across Spring and Autumn seasons at the RIBA in London.
Margaret Talbot of VitrA UK comments: “We’re delighted to be partnering with the RIBA once again in 2023 to support high-quality architectural discourse for the benefit of audiences in the UK and beyond. At VitrA, we know that design can impact positively on society, sustainability and public health – as well as improving the lives of individuals.”
