VitrA announces new season of RIBA & VitrA talks

VitrA is delighted to announce a new season of RIBA + VitrA Talks, with a line-up that includes internationally-recognised Scandinavian practices Snøhetta and Dorte Mandrup.

As part of VitrA’s partnership with the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), the Snøhetta talk, now sold out, will take place on Tuesday 12 November 2019 and the Dorte Mandrup talk will take place on Tuesday 28 January 2020. Both events will be held at the RIBA headquarters in London and will be followed by a Q&A.

The RIBA + VitrA Talks series was launched in September 2018. Its second year kicks-off this Autumn with Craig Dykers and Kjetil Trædal Thorsen, founding partners of Snøhetta, who will present recent projects and outline their practice’s trans-disciplinary approach to architecture and landscape. 2020 begins with Dorte Mandrup, who will speak about her eponymous studio’s hands-on approach to design and its commitment to improving the culture of architecture practice.

The RIBA + VitrA Talks create a platform for the global exchange of architectural ideas, bringing together internationally renowned voices and reflecting VitrA’s long-term commitment to adding cultural value to society through the exchange of dialogue. The 2019–20 programme is being curated by Chloe Spiby Loh, the newly appointed Public Programmes Manager at the RIBA. Chloe says: “I want to follow the ambitions set out in the first year of the RIBA + VitrA partnership to provide a programme that continues to prioritise speakers that reflect the exciting and diverse ecology of architectural practice that exists today”.

Levent Giray, Managing Director of VitrA UK, comments: “We are thrilled to be continuing the next series of the RIBA + VitrA Talks and to be supporting such an inspiring programme. By hosting leading voices from the international architecture scene, we hope the RIBA + VitrA Talks will help contribute to the exchange of ideas in contemporary architecture”.

The 2018–19 RIBA + VitrA Talks programme consisted of a series of critically acclaimed lectures across the UK and in Istanbul, where VitrA is headquartered. Speakers included Daniel Libeskind, Kazuyo Sejima of SANAA, Sir David Adjaye, Kate Macintosh, Frida Escobedo, Emre Arolat, MASS Design Group, Feilden Fowles and Grimshaw Architects.

Tickets to the Snøhetta talk are now sold out.

Tickets to the Dorte Mandrup talk can be purchased here.
