The ¨Meet the Designer¨ series by leading bathroom brand VitrA continue this Autumn with a talk featuring Italian architect and designer Claudio Bellini indiscussion with the brand’s Design Director, Erdem Akan. The digital talk, hosted on VitrA’s Youtube channel, will be live-streamed on Tuesday, 29September at 7pm BST (9pm ISTA).
The conversation will centre around the designer’s extensive career as well as the themes behind his work, which focuses on creating conceptually drivendesigns by combining beauty and efficiency. Claudio Bellini founded in 1996 his eponymous studio, Claudio Bellini Design+Design, recognised as one of themost influential European design practices. In 1998, the practice launched a new office furniture system, the TW Collection (Frezza), which became a new standard in the contemporary office landscape. The talk will also examine Claudio Bellini’s collaboration with VitrA for the Equal range as part of the brand’s long-standing programme of working with highly acclaimed designers.
For Equal, Claudio Bellini reimagined the modern bathroom through an architectural lens. The minimalist approach to the design was complemented by the monochrome hues and metallic finishes that Bellini selected. The contemporary collection infused the washroom with tranquility through its useof pure shapes and seamless joints. Developed carefully in collaboration with VitrA’s in-house design team, Equal aimed at maintaining the illusion of fluidity– using the smooth edges to mimic the natural cavities found in lakes, alongside more angular and structured lines to ground the aesthetic.
Levent Giray, Managing Director of VitrA UK, comments: “We are thrilled to continue our ‘Meet the Designer’ series with the third instalment featuring Claudio Bellini and our Design Director Erdem Akan.
